Notes by Jane Goodrich: [1] |
- Raymond Delguel married Francoise Marty, early in the 17th century, in the tiny village of Doissac in the ancient province of Perigord, France. This province sent few immigrants to New France, and is now toured by few tourists. Their village is not far from the famous caves with the artwork of Cromagnon man. The name of the village has evolved to Doissat. We know nothing about Raymond and Francoise, not even how they made their living in this beautiful rugged setting. Their names entered our record books because of the two sons who came to Quebec.
Jane Goodrich's source:"One Hundred French Canadian Family Histories" by Phillip J. Moore.
