Notes  Notes by Jane Goodrich:  [1
    • Pierre probably came to New France as an aid to his older brother Jean, who came to Quebec with the Carignan Regiment in 1665 and worked as a quartermaster in the King's store in the lower part of Quebec City. Both Pierre and Jean used the nom de guerre of Labreche. Most of Jean's descendants use the name Lebreche.

Following demobilization Jean and Pierre chose to stay in Quebec. When Pierre Delguel arrived in Quebec in 1665 he was only 15 or 16 years old. The first mention of him in our records was in April 1670 when he married Jeanne Damien in Quebec City. Our ancestor, Pierre (1685-1766) is their only known child.
