I have also been researching the Hunterdon County Case's. My research has brought me back to William Henry Case (1770 - 2/27/1835). He was buried at Larison's Corner Cemetery in Amwell, NJ.

In the Hunterdon County Historical Society (HCHS) files I found a summary (of a deed?) where it mentioned a Matthias Case also known as Hontice Case who died 12/5/1799 Intestate. It mentioned that it was believed that he was the son of Anthony (Tunis) Case the original immigrant who died 11/4/1772 and that both were buried at Larison's Corner. From other research I believe that the original immigrant Anthony Kase married Eva Catherine ? and one of their sons was John Matthias Case.

The entry in the HCHS file indicates that lot 1 was to be his widows (Christianna). Lots 2 and 3 went to Margaret, John, Matthias, Sarah, Samuel, Mary, ?, and Ann Buchanan children of Ann (deceased) Buchanan d/o Hontice. Lot 4 went to Catherine Case d/o Hontice. Lot 5 went to Christianna d/o John Case deceased s/o Hontice. Lots 6 and 7 went to Tunis s/o Intestate. Let 8 to Matthias s/o Intestate. Lot 9 to Peter s/o Intestate. Lot 10 and 11 to William s/o Intestate (25 acres, 32 perches and 11/2 acres, 24 perches). Lot 12 to Elizabeth d/o Intestate. Lots 13 and 14 to Philip s/o Intestate.

I haven't had many good leads to find William's parents, but this looks like it may be my best. I also believe that William's brother could be your Tunis, Sr. I believe that Ann Case Buchanan mentioned above was born about 1758.

The list of Case marriages from Hunterdon County, NJ does list the marriage of Tunis Case to Rhoda Moore as 4/13/1820; 2-180; Poulson.

Next time I visit Hunterdon County I intend on taking a look at some of the old deeds again.
